Sports

Trampoline ().png

Freestyle Trampoline

Freestyle Trampoline builds on the basic skills of traditional trampolining and then allows the athlete to develop their own set of skills using a fundamental progression of skill development for each trick. Traditional “competitive” Trampoline works on the skill movement in the 3 main axis whereas Freestyle Trampoline uses all axis, multiple trampolines, walls and structures. Freestyle Trampoline is the basis for spatial awareness skills in all sports. No longer is it just the “Extreme” sports that are doing aerial movements.

All lessons are taught by certified coaches using the Canada Sport For Life age-appropriate levels. Classes start for kids age 3 and up. Start with the basics of trampoline safety and continue to work on developing skills at your athlete’s pace and comfort level.

Bike

We love to Bike, especially when it involves jumps, bumps and pumps. We have a few different types of programs to meet your bikers needs. We cater for: Freeride, Mountain Bike, BMX Race, Dirt Jumping, Bike Skills Development.

The Bike Skills Development Program is designed to build riders all-around skills. Riders will learn a solid foundation with emphasis on jumping skills, cornering and generating speed with pumping. These skills will set a core foundation for all aspects of biking. In Nanaimo, we use all areas of the Steve Smith bike park for this training. We offer training levels for riders of all ages and abilities.

Freeride Mountain Biking - This encompasses all aspects of the sport of mountain biking. Climbing, descending, jumps, drops, cornering and technical terrain are what you can expect in this program. Utilizing the great trail networks of Doumont and Westwood Lake, athletes can expect to gain an understanding of fundamental bike skills, as well as wilderness awareness and trail etiquette. Athletes should have a solid foundation of bike skills prior to getting out on the trails. If you are a first timer it is highly recommended you partake in a Bike Skills Development class to work on your skills in a controlled environment before getting out onto the single track trails.

BMX Race is designed to improve all aspects of their BMX race skills. Riders will learn a solid foundation with emphasis on jump skills, cornering, generating speed with pumping, gates & race strategy.  We will utilize the Nanaimo BMX track for this training. These sessions are for riders who have solid bike skills. Riders should be able to ride the BMX track with confidence from the start hill and be comfortable in the gate on their own.

Skateboarding

Skateboarding is the ultimate freestyle sport and today’s top athletes have taken aerials to a whole new level. Skateboarding will be debuting at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 and a whole new world is opening up for young athletes. Our skateboarding programs start for first timers all the way through to advanced skaters. We use a mix of mini pipe, street and park features in our progression. Skateboarding is a great, and cheap, way for kids, of all ages, to get out and get moving. Set your kids up for success by having a great time starting and building on a solid foundation of skills.

Parkour

Parkour is about getting from one point to another in a complex environment and without assistive equipment. We focus on teaching tricks and acrobatic skills that can be combined to add complexity and style to the movement. Parkour includes running, climbing, swinging, vaulting, jumping, rolling, crawling and other movements suitable for the situation or obstacle.

Gymnastics Tumbling

Gymnastics Tumbling is a sport discipline which combines artistic gymnastics and trampoline.

Tumbling is an amazing foundation sport because it increases strength, flexibility, coordination and body awareness. The discipline is performed without props or equipment, and may also be referred to as floor gymnastics. All of this can help develop a wide variety of skills which are transferrable and necessary in other sports.

Whether you are a dancer, acrobat, gymnast, or cheerleader, tumbling will always have something new and exciting to be learned.
